Your Pursuit of Knowledge for Wisdom

There is so much to learn every day.  And you know how easy it is to get distracted or overwhelmed when you start opening emails, posts and social media sites and discover things vying for your attention.

The key is to have a purpose when you get online.  There's no way to stay on top of it ALL - so give yourself a time limit and an online agenda.  Your pursuit of knowledge via the Internet is unlimited.  But true wisdom comes from absorbing what you learn, and opening up to how what you know fits in with the universal principles of service, help and yes, love.

Knowledge is what you know.  Wisdom  is something more.  It isn't generated by self.  Whatever your beliefs in how the Universe is constructed, that much is clear.  There's something bigger than each of us and it works in, with and through us.

I find I must keep all that in mind when I get online and start gathering info to help with my work and my clients.

The ones out there who are on the cutting edge and leading the charge are doing a lot of the work for you.  Take things at the pace you can and need to.  Figure out what your end goal is and then work backwards ("Begin with the end in mind" - Steven Covey).

Couple of things that grabbed my attention this morning.  Chris Brogan posted on his site (community and social media at www.chrisbrogan.com) 57 Internet Possibilities to Investigate. Lots of good suggestions for how to use the web for streams of information, web-based work, being local and using video and mobile apps.

Claude Jollet (www.top-web-entrepreneurs-plan-it.com) is a successful SBI user and posts a lot in the SBI Forum (another benefit of using Site Build It - help from the large community of users is there for the taking).  He's been singing the praises of Sitesell Founder, Ken Evoy - even nominating his as a social entrepreneur - which is true of Ken, although he's modest and downplays that and loves that the users of SBI are so involved in community learning and helping.  Certainly check out Ken's blog.

Keep pursuing your dream and keep growing in knowledge.  The wisdom will come as part of the journey.

Ken Evoy deserves to be recognized as a "social entrepreneur" because he has transformed thousands of individuals (including me) into self-reliant, successful entrepreneurs.

    Our "playground" is the Web.

Our area of expertise is the knowledge and know-how we have acquired through work experience, and other activities.

Our passion is to share it with others. We already did that, every day, anyway! Now we share it all on the Web, in a very rewarding way, in every sense of the word!

Ken has invented a way for us to actually profit from publishing what we already know, on the Web!

Profit comes easily because it costs us less than one dollar per day to self-publish on our Web sites ... and the "Action Guide" gives us step-by-step instructions on how to diversify the sources of income generated by the constantly increasing traffic that our Web site(s) get (if built according to the "Action Guide"

Ken Evoy is largely responsible for giving us the self-empowering tools that we use. Of course, he has surrounded himself with a bunch of highly talented and dedicated people to assist him in his mission.

Ken's wife Janice and his "power team" are essential to the success of his "social" endeavor.

But, Ken Evoy remains the "spark plug" that fires "human engines", after "human engines", into life-changing action.

Using his guidance material and server-side software tools, we can, and have, changed our lives for the better. Permanently!

Henry Ford put the steering wheel and the power of locomotion in the hands of ordinary people.

Bill Gates put the power of computing in the hands of ordinary people.

Steve Jobs put a a mouse and a friendly user interface (UI) on the personal computer so that ordinary people could make full use of it (bless him)!

Tim Berners-Lee put the Web browser ("Mosaic") and thus, the power of the Internet, in the hands of ordinary people.

Linus Torvalds unlocked the personal computer and put the power of open source computing in the hands of ordinary people.

Ken Evoy put the power to market one's own knowledge, know-how and passions in the hands of ordinary people.

    The result is self-empowerment.

In short, that is why I nominated Ken Evoy as worthy of being awarded a "Ashukan Fellowship".

Thank you, Claude, for sharing your reasons why Ken Evoy is a social entrepreneur.  People, check out Claude's site - a great example of how Site Build It can be powerful.  And remember, not just for Internet marketing but for so many great purposes, services and businesses.  I've used it successfully for 5 years for Life Story Service and information at www.your-life-your-story.com.
